Dr Marie Bysveen, Chief Market Developer at SINTEF Energy Research, is a Co-Chair of Carbon Management Europe’s Technology Working Group. She holds a PhD in Marine/Mechanical Engineering from NTNU/INRIA and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from NTH.
Since 2006, she has been working at SINTEF Energy Research across a wide range of energy research topics, with a particular focus on CCS, energy systems, bioenergy, and climate-neutral cities, at both national and European levels. She has held several senior roles at SINTEF, including Research Manager, Research Director, Executive Vice President, and Vice President of Research. She has been a member of several European and national expert groups in energy-related Research & Innovation, including the highest-level Advisory Group for Energy (AGE), where she was invited by the European Commission to advise on energy research priorities. She has coordinated the EERA Joint Programme on CCS and led the CO2 capture work on the SET Plan Implementation Working Group 9, as well as coordinating and chairing large R&D projects such as DeCARBit, ACCSESS, and CHEERS, and serving as centre director of the national Centre of Excellence within the energy field.
