Mark Preston Aragonès, Head of Carbon Accounting at Bellona Europa, is a Co-Chair of Carbon Management Europe’s Carbon Dioxide Removals Working Group, where he helps steer the group’s strategic discussions and outputs on the role of CDR in European climate policy. He has co-authored reports with Carbon Management Europe on the need for robust definitions and carbon accounting for CDR at the EU level.
Mark has a background in international relations and climate, with an interest in bridging the gap between climate science and climate policy. At Bellona Europa, he was responsible for the work on the governance of CDR in the Horizon 2020 project NEGEM, represented Bellona in the Carbon Removals Expert Group, and currently leads Bellona Europa’s work on carbon accounting relating to CCS, CCU, and CDR.
