Vice-Chair, Academic and Research Organisations Constituency

Nils Rokke is the Vice-Chair of Carbon Management Europe’s Academic and Research Organisations constituency. He is the Executive Vice President of Sustainability in SINTEF, the largest research institute in Norway with 2200 employees.

Nils holds a PhD in combustion from NTH (NTNU). Nils was President of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) until May 2024, and has since then been Vice President in EERA. He was a Gas Turbine Design and Development Manager in Rolls-Royce Marine before returning to SINTEF in 2002 as Vice President Gas Technologies and Director of the Gas Technology Centre NTNU-SINTEF.

He is also Chair of the European Clean Hydrogen Partnership (JU) Stakeholder Group. Contributor in Forbes writing on energy and climate issues, and also actively taking part in the public debate on the energy/climate transition and energy security and resilience. Founder of the TCCS and H2science conference series. Director of the HYDROGENi FME Centre, focusing on the value chain of hydrogen and ammonia. Initiator of the ECCSEL ERIC CCS R&I infrastructure and board member of ECCSEL.
