Dr Owain Tucker is Manager, CCS Capability & Project Support, Principal Technical Expert, CCS at Shell. He is a Co-Chair of Carbon Management Europe’s Technology Working Group, bringing deep technical expertise in CO₂ storage exploration, appraisal, and development.
At Shell, he holds a technical overview of all CCS projects and leads a team of experts responsible for guiding exploration and appraisal, technical assurance, integration, technology maturation, the CCS research agenda, and the development of CCS competencies and capacity.
Owain worked directly on the Goldeneye CO₂ store in the UK North Sea for over six years and led the team that delivered the storage permit application and storage development plan. He helped author the SPE SRMS, is active in CCS standards development, and sits on the Executive Committee of the IEAGHG R&D programme. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor at Heriot-Watt University, where he lectures in CO₂ storage.
