On 14 February, ZEP joined stakeholders in a letter calling on the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) to support amendments tabled to recognise transport of CO2 to storage via ship, rail, barge, and truck. ZEP has actively followed and engaged in the developments around the delegated acts implementing the Regulation on Sustainable Finance. In agreement with points raised in the letter of 11 March 2021, ZEP would like to stress the importance of actions needed to enable the manufacturing of any grid-connected low-carbon hydrogen. Following the revision of the Trans-European Networks for Energy (TEN-E) Regulation, ZEP sent a letter to Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson to share the Platform’s thoughts and highlight that CO2 transport and storage infrastructure is crucial to achieve climate neutrality in the EU by 2050 and should be included in a revised TEN-E Regulation.
