With hard-to-abate industrial emissions and significant potential for permanent CO₂ removals, Ireland has an opportunity to develop industrial carbon management as part of its path towards climate neutrality.
This event will bring together industry, policymakers and experts at Blackrock Castle in Cork to what is needed to turn this potential into deployment.
The programme will:
- showcase Irish industrial case studies, including the cement and bio-based sectors;
- identify the infrastructure and regulatory conditions needed for CO₂ transport and storage;
- and develop policy insights to inform European discussions on industrial competitiveness and climate ambition.
Ireland’s carbon opportunity is an official associated event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
